The ACS International-team looks back on a very successful 30th-anniversary edition of the SIMPPAR trade show.
We were very pleased to welcome you at our booth carrying the theme ’’L’Impressionnisme en Parfums’’.
We hope that everyone who stopped by enjoyed our olfactory escapade.
After 2 years of isolation, we were happy to finally meet again in person during those days in Paris.
We can’t wait to show you five compositions highlighting the excellent performance of our products under the headline „L’Impressionnisme en Parfums“.
The first one is Milk Lactone. Used in traces, this material offers the possibility to improve some floral aspects with its soft but very characteristic acidic notes.
Next is MVP (2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol). A powerful compound imparting spicy, smoky, dry notes reminiscent of clove buds. The product adds good strength and volume to compositions. Thanks to its strong, spicy character, MVP can be used in a variety of applications.
The third spotlight is on Decalactone Epsilon, whose spicy notes with hints of celery and fenugreek go very well with herbal, woody and exotic accords.

We are proud to announce that ACS International´s production site, Aroma Rise, was awarded a Gold Medal for EcoVadis‘ Corporate Social Responsibility assessment.
The evaluation highlighted Aroma Rise’s strengths in the categories of labor, human rights, ethic, environment, and sustainable procurement, with scores in the top 5% of suppliers in the industry segment.
Overall, Aroma Rise achieved a score of 70/100, ten points higher than its score from the previous year.
The EcoVadis assessment evaluates how well a company has integrated the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility into its business and management systems for more than 75.000 companies in 200 industries and 160 countries.

ACS Internationals Perfumers Contest “Amethyst” has found a worthy winner!
„Circle & Life“ is the exciting and high-quality fragrance, which David Chieze, a young perfumer from France, created in the course of ACS Internationals Perfumers Contest Amethyst. The winning fragrance was selected from an expert jury amongst many creative and brilliant submissions from perfumers worldwide. Chieze’s creation not only impressed the jury by its unique scent but also by its story behind it.
David Chieze explained about “Circle & Life”: “The development of this fragrance was to create a scent about the story of life, which goes as a circle. You start young and innocent, with all the sweetness and candies, and then you grow up, discover the animal part of the human kind. Then you grow old, become a child again. You have seen it all and are ready to go in piece and joy.”
The challenge of the Perfumers Contest was to implement Ambrettolide HC Suprême, ACS’s novel macrocyclic musk. David Chieze said about Ambrettolide HC Suprême: “It is of great help, it “fills the holes” of the fragrance and makes it rounder. It is a unique note in the musk family and a multi-tool for fragrance creation!”

ACS International at the SIMPPAR 2019 – busy and eventful days!
SIMPPAR 2019 in a few numbers: 2000 top-class visitors from the F&F industry, 100 exhibitors from 22 countries – and busy and eventful days for the ACS International team! “We are highly satisfied with the numerous visitors at our booth and the fruitful talks”, says Michel Specklin, Managing Director ACS International. “And of course it was a great pleasure to announce David Chieze as the winner of our Perfumes Contest Amethyst”.
The 14th SIMPPAR not only attracted a great amount of visitors, also the number of exhibitors was almost one third higher than in 2017. The ACS International team welcomed numerous top-class visitors at the booth. Interested visitors had the chance to find out about a variety of products such as:
Of course ACS Internationals new and outstanding product Ambrettolide HC Suprême was the star of the event. Ambrettolide HC Suprême not only played an important role at the booth, it is also the product around which the Perfumers Contest Amethyst evolved. During the first day of the SIMPPAR, the Amethyst contest award ceremony was held in the superbly decorated VIP area. ACS International proudly announced David Chieze, a young perfumer from France, as the worthy winner. After a brief introduction of the ACS group by Dan Hirlea (CEO ACS International) and a description of the winner’s fragrance by Serge Oldenbourg (Senior perfumer at ACS International), the audience – perfumers, professionals from the F&F industry and members of the specialized press – were impatient to meet David Chieze the happy winner of the contest award of $10,000. The ceremony attendees each were presented with a flacon of David’s “Circle & Life” fragrance.
“Circle & Life” represents the story of life, which goes as a circle. ACS International thanks all guests and partners for their visit, and as everything moves in circles, looks forward to meeting new and familiar faces at the next SIMPPAR 2021.
Congratulations to David Chieze – winner of the Perfumers Contest Amethyst
ACS International congratulates David Chieze for his outstanding fragrance development in the course of the Perfumers Contest Amethyst.
In June 2018 the Perfumers Contest Amethyst was initiated by ACS International. The contest evolved around ACS’ new product Ambrettolide HC Suprême. Interested perfumers were called to develop an innovative and creative fragrance with and around Ambrettolide HC Suprême. Over one hundred samples were sent out to perfumers from all over the world. Many interesting creations have reached ACS International over the course of the following year.
Finally, the international expert jury had the honorable task to select the winner from all submissions. In the course of the SIMPPAR 2019 in Paris, ACS International held a contest award ceremony where the winner David Chieze, a young perfumer from France, was announced as the winner. His winning fragrance “Circle & Life” was presented to the audience and he received the winning check of $10,000. His idea and realization of “Circle & Life” completely convinced the jury. David Chieze himself said about his creation: “The development of this fragrance was to create a scent about the story of life, which goes as a circle”. He explains further: “As I needed a lot of musks, which accompany the fragrance from top to bottom, it was the perfect opportunity to test a high amount of Ambrettolide HC Suprême”.
Serge Oldenbourg (Senior Perfumer ACS International) added: “We are very happy to have found this worthy winner of our Perfumers Contest Amethyst and are amazed by the great quality of submissions to the contest! Thank you to all participants and the many creations we have received.”
